As a locally owned and operated small hotel The Barlow interior, from the Lobby to the Guest Rooms/Suites, was designed with a blend of modern elements and period details in an effort to reflect Hudson’s unique charm and character. Having been originally built in the late 1800’s and expanded in 1924, the building was previously used for professional offices. During the renovations as much of the original details were kept to maintain the period charm of the building, including some slightly “ding-ed” woodwork and some original hallway tiles that are now cracked.
As such, The Barlow is not suitable for everyone and it is important guests be familiar with the accommodations and services provided by the Hotel prior to making a reservation. For example: the Hotel does not have a restaurant nor does it have a bar. In addition the Front Desk is not open 24 hours a day.
